KTM 790 Adventure R 1st warranty claim
My 790 has been out of service for 69days with warranty issues. This is a quick video of my first set of claims for my dealer outlining the warranty issues with my 2020 KTM 790 Adventure R. I purchased the bike from another dealership when I was out of state. The bike is less than 1 year old and this is the first time I have turned it in for warranty items as I need my bike for teaching.
Between September 6th 2020 and the day this video was made public the
I am not upset at KTM or the dealer but I am disappointed. I have decided after the returning the 790 back to the dealer an additional 4 times after the first claim (this video) that this isn’t going to be a long term keeper for me. Unfortunate as I LOVE riding this bike but can’t rely on it for teaching or making videos!
This is my first time I am looking at the lemon law (32 years riding). This week be a new experience for me. KTM has told me they will not buy the bike back or swap it to a new bike so that option is off the table.
The bike was scheduled for warranty brake failure I dropped it off to give the dealer a head start with KTM. Soty work on the 17th but after the re far they sat on the bike for a week and a day before reaching out to KTM. As of the posting of this video it is unknown the time it will take to get the bike back or if KTM will dispute any of the failures.
update: I am now at 6500 miles and have returned it to the dealer multiple times for new issues and follow up issue. out of service time is now over 60 days in less than 5 months.
KTM did offer to extend the warranty (but haven’t yet) and offered a trade in deal but no buy back option.
