I only had two days to ride both the 2021 KTM 1290 Adventure R and the new 890 Adventure R (I own a 2020 790). But it didn’t take long to get a feel for the performance of each. The comparison is not to compare again the BMW1250, the Africa Twin or new Harley Davidson PanAmerica but instead to look at how these compare to each other.

The 890 is very similar the 790 but the the 1290 is a big step forward in refinement over the previous 1290.
